Coforge Recruitment Drive Journey from Application to Offer
The job market is getting tougher every day, and I don’t need to tell you how important it is to be fully prepared—technically, mentally, and emotionally. I’m not here to teach you how to write code (you probably already know that), but I can give you a peek into what it actually feels like to write code during an interview, especially when the pressure is real.
Welcome back to Hey Sainty, I’m Priyanshu Chaurasiya, and today I’m sharing my full experience of the Coforge on-campus recruitment drive—from the moment the drive was announced to the moment I heard my name called in the final results. If you’re someone who’s about to face your next technical interview, or you’re just curious about how campus drives work, this blog is 100% for you. Let’s dive in!

About Coforge

Coforge (formerly NIIT Technologies) is a well-known Indian multinational IT company headquartered in Noida, with offices globally including in the US. They specialize in digital services and solutions across multiple industries and are known for their strong tech culture and growth opportunities. The company is listed on both BSE and NSE under the ticker symbol COFORGE.

The Drive Announcement

On 12th April, our college placement cell announced the recruitment drive. The application deadline was 15th April, so we had to move quickly. Here’s a quick snapshot of the drive details:
Company NameCoforge
Eligible CoursesBBA, BSc, BCA (including CS, DS&AI, etc.)
Cut-off Criteria65% throughout academics
DesignationGraduate Engineer Trainee
LocationAcross all Coforge locations
Selection Rounds3 rounds (Elimination-based)
Bond Agreement2 years, Rs. 1.5 lakh

Online Assessment

This round was conducted remotely via Mercer, with camera and mic monitoring enabled to ensure fairness. Honestly, giving it from my room helped a lot in terms of comfort. The test had two main parts:
Aptitude Test
Cognitive Thinking30 questions
Technical MCQs30 questions
Coding1 question
Spoken Communication
Reading18 questions
Listening3 questions
Grammar34 questions
I’d say the difficulty was moderate—nothing too crazy but not too easy either. The coding section had a decent-level problem, and the communication section was mostly about speaking clearly, responding to simple English questions, and a bit of grammar.

Shortlisting and The Next Step

On 26th May, our placement cell informed us about the shortlisting. I was genuinely happy to see my name on the list for the next rounds scheduled on 7th and 8th June in physical mode at our campus. That’s when I knew things were getting real.

Pre-Placement Talk

Before interviews started, we all gathered in the college auditorium. Coforge’s panel and our placement heads gave a pre-placement talk, where they introduced the company, shared their growth journey, company culture, technologies they work with, and why Coforge stands out from other tech firms.
It was quite motivating, especially when they talked about employee growth, innovation, and work culture.

HR & Communication Interview

Once the session ended, we headed to classrooms with our resumes and documents. Names were being called one by one for the HR round.
My turn came. I walked into the cabin, and the interviewer greeted me with a smile. Trust me, that smile calmed my nervousness.
What was asked
  • Introduce yourself (name, background, skills)
  • Tell me about your projects
  • Are you okay relocating?
This round, in my opinion, is all about checking how open, confident, and genuine you are. They’re also trying to see if you’re actually okay with the bond, salary, and job location.

Technical Interview

Now this one had me a little nervous, especially after hearing mixed feedback from others who were done with theirs. But I reminded myself—I’ve done the work, so let’s just go for it.
When I entered, the interviewer was super friendly. He asked me to introduce myself and then started scanning through my resume. From there, the questions started flowing:
Questions asked
  • What is CI/CD? (This led to a long and in-depth discussion)
  • Favorite subject? (I mentioned DBMS and DSA)
  • Few basic DSA questions
  • Real-world examples of Stack and Queue
  • Questions around my full stack projects
  • SQL queries and backend APIs discussion
What stood out the most? He wasn’t there to grill me—he was there to understand what I know and where I stand. Even if I struggled with something, he helped me connect the dots and explained concepts where needed.
Honestly, this round turned out way better than I expected!

The Result Declaration

It was finally 8th June, around 3 PM. Everyone had completed all rounds, and we were asked to gather in classrooms. The placement team and Coforge officials entered with a bunch of envelopes (yes, that dramatic movie moment), and they gave a really nice speech:

Not being selected doesn’t mean you’re not good enough. It just means the company has limited seats.

They announced that 40 students were selected from our 4 combined colleges. Then the names started rolling out…
…and yes, my name was called. Everyone clapped. I smiled.

Tips for a Tech Interview

Let’s be real for a second—interviews are tough. But with the right prep, you can increase your chances big time.
Here are a few things that helped me and can definitely help you too:
  • Dress well – Formal attire, shoes, ID card—look like you mean business.
  • Stay calm and polite – A confident vibe goes a long way.
  • Strengthen your basics – Don’t just learn frameworks. Focus on core concepts.
  • DSA & OOPs matter – These WILL be asked, no matter the company.
  • Project-based answers – When talking about SQL, mention where you used it. It makes you stand out.
  • Be honest in your resume – Don’t add buzzwords just to look cool. I added CI/CD and ended up having a deep discussion on it!

Final Thoughts

If you’re a final year or pre-final year student—get interview exposure. My blog (and others like it) can help you understand the process, but nothing beats actual experience.
You may feel confident thinking, What’s the big deal? I know React, JavaScript, Java, C++, SQL… what can they ask that I can’t answer?
But trust me, when you sit in that interview chair, you get to know your real strengths—and weaknesses.
The best part? Even if you don’t crack an interview, you walk away smarter, more aware, and a step closer to landing your dream job.

Every interview doesn’t give you a job, but each one takes you closer to it.

With that, I’ll wrap up this post. I hope it helped you feel what it’s like to go through a real interview journey. If you have any questions or thoughts, feel free to drop them in the comments below.
Wish you the best for your next interview.
Thank you !!
